What People Are Saying About 5-Guys: Is It Worth the High Price?

One of the biggest issues that is found across every single video made about 5 guys is that its too expensive and not worth the big price tag. On nearly every video I watched there were always comments talking about how the prices are to high. You might be shocked; the average cost for one burger is 6.28$, without adding fries or a drink. So whats the appeal?

The Appeal: Fresh, Simple, and Customizable

One of the reasons people love 5-guys so much is because you can customize and change the menu in anyway imaginable. The burgers are made with fresh, never frozen beef, and customers can choose from a long list of toppings at no extra cost. This makes every order feel personalized, which is something many fast-food chains don’t offer at the same level.

A video made by the Creator, "Nafeatsfood" demonstrated exactly how far you can customize your order by creating the "Ultimate 5 layer Patty Melt". While this isn't something everyone is going to order it shows the extent at which 5 guys will let you customize and change your order.

It is awesome that 5-guys lets you change and customize there menu to fit your dinning experience but it comes with a price. NAF disclosed that the price of his "Ultimate 5 Layer Patty-Melt" was 37$, which supports the claims and belief that 5 guys is too expensive.

What Customers Are Saying?

A meal from 5-Guys can easily cost significantly more than a meal at places like McDonald’s or In-N-Out. Some customers feel the price is too high for what is still, at the end of the day, a burger and fries. Some of the comments from video were, "Do I need to take Out a loan" -Jedi_Droppout, "that's crazy 37 bucks for a mid burger"-Dirt_Diggler. And it definitely factors in to how people choose to eat out.  With all the things going on in the world people are trying to save money which may hinder 5-guys since they are a more expensive fast food chain.

Five Guys has built its brand around fresh ingredients, large portions, and total customization. For some customers, that makes the higher price worth it. For others, it’s hard to justify spending that much when cheaper alternatives are available.

In the end, Five Guys sits in a unique spot between fast food and casual dining. Whether it’s worth the price really comes down to what you value more: quality and customization, or affordability.

One thing is certain—people aren’t just eating at Five Guys, they’re debating it.
